Impala^&reg; is powered&nbsp;by the new, more powerful and more efficient version of the&nbsp;3.6L direct-injected V6 Variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine. This powerhouse delivers 300 hp @ 6500 rpm and 262 lb-ft of torque @ 5300 rpm. DI is Direct Injection, which helps deliver great fuel economy¹while improving vehicle performance. VVT works by optimizing combustion, enhancing low-end torque and high-end power while controlling emissions.&nbsp;<br /><br />¹ EPA-estimated MPG 18 city/30 highway.

Impala^&reg; is the only car in its class offering the versatility of a flip-and-fold-flat rear seat. The 60/40 seat accommodates&nbsp;3 passengers in its normal position. Pull up either seat cushion &mdash; or both &mdash; to reveal a composite storage tray that runs the entire width of the rear floor. Fold down both rear seatbacks, and a flat-load floor is created, providing additional cargo-carrying capability.

Impala^&reg; surrounds you with comprehensive safety features, such as 4-wheel antilock disc brakes. Antilock brakes help you to maximize braking and maintain control, by rapidly adjusting brake pressure, if necessary, to reduce the chance of wheel slip. The system also includes Dynamic Brake Proportioning to maximize the effectiveness between the front and rear brakes, and Traction Control to enhance vehicle launch and acceleration on slippery surfaces.
